Free image tools for client work

QBMFX Image Studio is free to use for resizing, compressing, converting and renaming JPG, PNG and WebP images. There is no account, QBMFX watermark or daily usage quota. Developers can prepare website assets, freelancers can organize client deliveries, and everyday users can try an upload-size requirement. Images are processed in the browser rather than sent to a conversion service.

For developers: prepare assets for a real layout

Begin with the dimensions your layout needs. If a photograph is 2400 by 1600 pixels and the intended image box is 1200 by 1200, keeping aspect ratio fits the photo at 1200 by 800. This preserves its shape; it does not crop a square thumbnail. Choose a format the destination supports and compare the resulting dimensions and bytes before adding the file to your project.

WebP and JPG use the quality control. PNG ignores that setting because it uses lossless encoding for the canvas result. Re-encoding still does not promise identical source metadata, color handling or pixels after resizing. Transparent images converted to JPG use your selected background color, which defaults to white. Review edges and small labels rather than assuming a new extension always means a better asset.

For freelancers: make a consistent delivery batch

A client may supply files with unrelated names, mixed orientations and large dimensions. Add a manageable group, choose dimensions and add a prefix such as product. With WebP output, names become product-001.webp, product-002.webp and so on. Review individual results, then download a ZIP containing the successfully processed images. Duplicate output names are given suffixes so one result does not silently replace another.

Keep a copy of the originals and write down the agreed output requirements. A delivery should match the client's dimensions, accepted format and quality expectations, not merely have a smaller total size. The tool supplies file preparation controls; it does not decide whether a photograph is suitable for a product listing or whether a design meets a platform's current specifications.

For everyday users: work towards an upload limit

If a form asks for a file under 200 KB, choose JPG or WebP and suitable dimensions, then enter 200 as the target. The tool attempts a lower quality at those dimensions when needed. It uses 1024 bytes per KB. A result marked Target not met is still too large for that threshold: reduce the dimensions or increase the target, then process again.

Do not expect upscaling to restore missing detail. Allow upscaling is off by default. A small source therefore stays small unless you intentionally enable enlargement. Always inspect a downloaded result before submitting it to a third-party portal, because that portal's requirements may include dimensions and file type as well as bytes.

Privacy, cost and practical limits

Free means no payment is needed for these controls; it does not mean infinite memory. Input decoding, canvas output and ZIP assembly depend on your device. Output dimensions are guarded at 16384 pixels per side and 40 megapixels. Large batches can still pause or exhaust a browser tab. Static JPG, PNG and WebP are the supported workflow, not HEIC, SVG or animation editing.

The original files are not overwritten. Clear the queue or close the tab when finished. There is no saved cloud history, automatic backup or offline PWA guarantee. For a problem report, use Contact and select Image Studio. Describe the source format, requested dimensions, output format and visible error without attaching private client images. The linked guide explains each control in order.

A free bulk workflow you can review

For a client catalog, start with three images that represent the full set: a portrait, a landscape and a transparent product image. Choose the agreed output box and format, then inspect each result. A portrait and landscape will not become identical shapes simply because the width and height fields match. Keeping aspect ratio fits each source inside the requested dimensions; stretching changes the shape. Decide which behavior the destination actually needs before applying settings to the rest of the queue.

Once the sample is acceptable, prepare a manageable batch using the same settings. Review any target-size warnings, download the ZIP and extract it into a delivery folder. Check the number of files against the successfully processed results and open several at their final display size. If the browser struggles, split the work into smaller groups. The free ZIP workflow reduces repeated downloads, but it does not remove memory limits or turn processing into an unattended cloud service.

A clear client handover

A useful handover states the format, bounding dimensions, naming prefix and whether upscaling was allowed. For a developer, include the intended page location so the images can be used with appropriate layout dimensions. For a personal upload, keep the original until the destination accepts the new file. These checks depend on the actual task rather than a universal ideal size. QBMFX provides the preparation controls free; the quality of a delivery comes from matching requirements and inspecting the output.
