How to create QR codes for URLs, Wi-Fi and WhatsApp

To create a QR code, choose Text or URL, Wi-Fi or WhatsApp, enter its content and select Generate & check. Download the PNG or the logo-free SVG after the local scan check passes. The QR contains its data directly rather than using a QBMFX redirect. You can also paste CSV for bulk codes or printable labels, and scan an existing QR image locally.

Choose the content people should receive

For a link, choose Text or URL and enter the destination. Review spelling and the full address yourself before generating. Encoding a URL does not prove that its website is trustworthy, available or owned by you. Plain text is also supported. Keep the payload focused on what the recipient needs; changing the original input later does not update copies of a QR already downloaded or printed.

For WhatsApp, enter an international phone number with its country code. The tool removes spaces, plus signs, parentheses and hyphens, then checks for a number containing 7 to 15 digits. The second field supplies an optional message. The generated payload is a WhatsApp link, not a guarantee that the number has a working WhatsApp account. Test the destination using your own device.

Worked example: a guest Wi-Fi code

Choose Wi-Fi and enter StudioGuest as the network name and SamplePass2026 in the password field. These are example credentials, not a real network. The generator builds a WPA Wi-Fi payload containing both values. Network names and passwords must match the actual network exactly. There is no separate security-mode selector for an open or enterprise network in this release.

Use a guest network if that matches your intended access policy. Anyone who can read the printed code may be able to recover its credentials, so displaying a Wi-Fi QR is also a decision to share that information. Local processing keeps generation in your browser; it does not make the exported payload secret. Test joining the intended network on a real phone before placing the code on a counter.

Colors, logo and downloads

Choose a dark foreground and light background with clear contrast. PNG sizes of 512, 1024 and 2048 pixels are available. A PNG or JPG logo can be selected for the center of the PNG output. SVG intentionally omits the logo. Generate again after changing content, colors, size or logo: those changes disable old downloads so the exported result must be rebuilt.

The tool attempts to decode the generated PNG locally. If the decoded content does not match, it reports a failed check and disables downloads. Try stronger contrast or remove the logo. Passing this check is helpful, but it does not test your paper, printer, lighting or the final display size. Scan the actual printed result before making many copies.

Worked example: product labels from CSV

Paste the following into Batch CSV. The required headers are text, label, and each text value must be non-empty. There is no CSV file-upload control for this workflow: paste your prepared data or use Load example, then choose the ZIP or label-sheet download.

text,label
https://example.com/item/001,Product 001
https://example.com/item/002,Product 002

The ZIP contains numbered PNG files. The label option builds A4 PDF sheets with twelve positions per page. Bulk codes use black modules on white backgrounds, without the single-code logo or color settings. Label text supports ASCII/Latin characters and is shortened when it exceeds the available width; the full text payload remains in the QR. Review the sheet at its intended print size.

Read an existing QR image

Select a screenshot or photo under Scan a QR image locally. A readable code appears as text in Decoded content. The tool does not automatically open it, which gives you a chance to review an unfamiliar link. If no code is found, use a sharper image that includes the complete quiet zone around the code. The scanner reads an image file, not a continuous camera feed.

Limits to know

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static, so the data is stored in the code itself and does not depend on our server. For the same reason they cannot be edited later or track scans.

Can I add a logo?

Yes, a PNG or JPG logo can be added to PNG downloads. SVG downloads do not include the logo.

How many codes can I make at once?

A CSV batch can contain up to 200 rows per job. Batch codes are plain black and white without logos.

Does the Wi-Fi QR code work for every network?

It is built for WPA networks. Test it with a real phone before printing.
